Lives in Madeira Island
In 1972 and 1979 she was artist-in-residence at DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst), in Berlin. She lived 25 years in Paris and in 1983 returns to Funchal, Madeira Island, where she actually lives. The last solo shows she participate was: Sombras à volta de um Centro (2003), Fundação Serralves, Oporto; O Grande Herbário de Sombras (2002), Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisbon.in 2002, she represents Portugal at São Paulo Biennale, Brazil, with Francisco Tropa.
She wins the following awards: CELPA/ Vieira da Silva (2004); Fundação EDP Prize (2000), Lisbon; and Medal of Concelho Regional Salon of Montrouge (1995), Paris. Her work is presente at several public and private collections, such as: Victoria e Albert Museum, London; Museum of Modern Art, Havanna; Museum of Modern Art, Belgrade; National Museum of Varsow, Vroclaw and Lódz; Centro de Arte Moderna, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisbon; e Fundação de Serralves, Oporto.
