Born, 1974, Odemira, Portugal
Lives and works in Lisbon and Malmö
He graduated in Art History at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, 1996, and in 2009 the Masters Programme in Fine Art at the Malmö Art Academy of the Lund University. He has been showing solo since 2006: One Hundred and Six Columns, Four Heads and One Table, Villa Concordia, Bamberg (Alemanha), Galeria 111, Lisboa-Porto (2011); As Time Goes By (2006), Galeria 111, Lisbon. Amongst his group shows are: It´s Not Easy (2008), Exit Underground, NY; My Name is Red (2008), Gallery Image Furini Arte Contemporanea, Arezzo; E-Flux Video Rental (2008), Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisbon; Where are you from? (2008), Faulconer Gallery, Grinnell College, Iowa, US-IA; Stream (2007), White Box, NY; Cross Borders (2007), Palladium, Malmö.
He has been awarded the EDP – Young Artist, prize in 2005, which is one of the most prestigious awards for young portuguese artists and in 2007 the Danfoss Art Award (Germany).
