Born 1943, Coimbra, Portugal
Lives and works in Lisbon
He graduated in 1968 at Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa. Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian’ Foundation's scholarship student between 1971 and 1974, he had his post-graduation degree at the Royal College of Art, London. Within this period the artist received the MaRCA diploma and the Sir Alan Lane and John Minton’s awards. His work is present in several private and public collections all around Europe and the United States of America.
He received the telegraphic award “Homeostética” in 1986, and has been the recipient of 2007’s Fundação EDP Award - the most prominent portuguese award for lifetime achievement in the arts.
